Announcements:

COMMUNICATION – Eighth grade students should be responsible enough to give papers to parents! We cannot afford to mail 60 letters every time we have information to share. E-mail seems to be a good way to communicate; however, I have less than half of the parent addresses so far. PLEASE send me your address so I can add it to the list! You can e-mail me at fl-hcunningham@seovec.org. I try to post updates on Parent Access and Facebook, but I know not everyone takes advantage of those sites.

Winter Ball – I am filling out paperwork this morning to request the building on Saturday, Dec. 5, for a dance from 7 to 9 p.m. I have ballots made up and will ask a committee to select a tiara. We will be buying pizzas as well as the tiara, crown and sashes. We will need chaperones and thoughts on decorations. I would like to do pictures if Deanna and/or Kristi is available. Maybe we can get flyers with prices out ahead of time and that will help increase sales? I also will be having 8th graders make up flyers and voting on the court. We may want to lower the price since we will be making money off the court and are having a shorter dance – any thoughts?

Longaberger Basket Bingo Sunday, Dec. 6, 2-4 p.m. Doors open at 1. $20 for 20 games. Kelly Brady, Jody Buegel and Becky Minder have been working hard to get this set up. We need students to work as servers, taking orders for concessions. We also will need students to pre-sell tickets. We have ordered 21 new baskets (20 for game winners and 1 for a door prize). We plan to clean up from the dance and set up tables for bingo from 9-10 Saturday night. Regarding concessions – Dawn Gutberlet will be making noodles. We have some hot dogs & sauce in my freezer left over from the volleyball concessions – will too much time have passed? Should we use that or get new? 3-point Contests – I have the varsity schedules; we need to have 2 students sign up for each game.

Big Buck Contest – Jennifer Shearon is working on this.

Family Portraits – Deanna Chambers is working on this.

We STILL have some Prowl Towels and Magical Night of Giving tickets to sell - $5 each. PURE PROFIT!!! We have more than 40 students who have not returned cash or tickets yet. If you cannot sell, please return the tickets so I can give them to someone who can. We also have 27 students who did not sell a single Prowl Towel. THIS IS NOT FAIR TO THE STUDENTS WHO ARE RAISING MONEY! Almost everyone in the class has said they plan to go on the trip, but we have this many students who are not actively raising money. I am completely serious in saying students who do not participate in at least half of the activities will either NOT go on the trip, or will have to pay their own way – approximately $250.
